The answers below are suggestions based on personal opinion.  Each individual must decide for herself what is best.

It is easy to injure your eye if you are aiming the point of the pencil at your eye because depth perception is difficult to judge in this situation.

Use a magnifying mirror and hold your eye liner pencil horizontally. Apply the eyeliner under the eyelashes using the side of the pencil not the tip.

How do I avoid poking myself in the eye when applying eyeliner?

TIP Use a mascara brush to separate lashes and remove clumps

Both eyes are finished

12 Choose a lipstick shade a little darker than your natural lip color.  Follow your natural lip lines an fill in the lips

IMPORTANT: Your mouth may look too wide if you cover all of it with lipstick.  I narrow the lipstick line as I approach the corners and stop before I reach the tip.

3 Add a light color under eyes to reduce dark circles

4 Even out your complexion with foundation. Apply foundation by patting it on and blending it with a make-up sponge for a  smooth look.

2 Cover black or blue skin in beard area with a red/orange make-up, cover red blemishes with green & cover brown spots with a color 2 shades lighter than your skin

5 Apply a soft color such as taupe or light brown directly under the lower eyelashes.  Stay as close to the lashes as possible. Hold the eye pencil horizontal to the eye and create your line from the nose out to the corner of the eye.

For blue eyes try a shade of blue, for brown eyes try purple or green and for hazel eyes experiment with all of these colors for different effects.

6 Repeat the step above on the eye lid as close as possible to the lashes. Black liner is very dramatic and recommended for evenings. Black is also nice on olive or brown skin

9 Apply white shadow in the corner of each eye and under the eye brows from the nose outward. IMPORTANT: blend, blend, blend with a  small soft bristle brush

7 For bright colored eyes add your main color (pink) over most of the lid leaving room under the eyebrow.

10 Choose an eyebrow pencil that is close to your hair color. Draw tiny stokes to fill in your  natural eyebrow.

Tip For thicker lashes use a lengthening  formula before your mascara.

11Add a blush that compliments your skin tone.  Using a  large soft bristle brush to apply  a small amount of powder blush on the roundest part of your cheeks called the “apples” located below each eye.

Lipstick I love

Rectangular Callout: I hate having to put lipstick on over and over again. So I love this lipstick! It lasts for hours and hours and doesn’t come off on your drinking glass, cigarette or anyone you might kiss!

Benefits of this product are it’s rich long lasting color and that it doesn’t kiss off. The drawbacks are that it feels a bit sticky and you need an oil based remover to take it off completely.

Mascara Comparison

Kenya, Kyla and Lady Ellen sampled 4 mascaras and compared them. We agreed that we saw the following results.

Revlon Lash Fantasy Total Definition made lashes look noticeably THICKER.

Maybelline NY XXL Pro Volume made lashes look noticeably LONGER.

We didn’t like Maybelline NY XXL Pro Extensions because it caused the lashes to clump together.

We were most disappointed in Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous Sequins. It was supposed to add sparkle to our lashes. The only time we saw glitter was when it was stuck to our skin after trying to remove the mascara.
